Activities and Events Committee

Committee Objectives:
  1. Organize Annual Banquet & Officer-Director Installation.
  2. Assist in providing community relations dinners and functions.
  3. Continue to promote current Fundraising Efforts:
    1. Annual Golf Classic (John Beavin, Chairperson)
    2. Annual Christmas Dance (Laura Haney, Chairperson)
    3. Annual 5K Race/Flippin Run (Chris Medley, Chairperson)
Committee Purpose:
To develop leadership and networking opportunities for Chamber members while providing community interaction.

Agriculture Committee

Chairperson: Andy Mills

Committee Objectives:
  1. Build coalitions between agricultural and business groups within the community and area.
  2. Plan and promote special events relative to agriculture as a business.
  3. To continue and expand relationships with agencies and organizations serving our rural populations.
  4. Assist existing agricultural agencies with promotion of Agri-tourism opportunities.
  5. Advertise & promote Meade County Farmer's Market.
Committee Purpose:
To support local efforts by agricultural agencies and groups which lead to the expansion of agricultural products, processing and marketing.


Education Committee

Chairperson: Paul Poole

Committee Objectives:
  1. Continue and promote the chamber college scholarship.
  2. Promote cooperative endeavors between business and education.
  3. Work with local institutions in designing business seminars, workshops and other training activities to meet business needs.
Committee Purpose:
To expand efforts in promoting cooperative endeavors between business and education while continuing to promote improvement in all community educational systems.

Health and Human Services Committee

Chairperson: Jo Nell Dailey

Committee Objectives:
  1. To develop a Health Fair that promoting good health and education to the area.
  2. Provide assistance, when requested, to members and community needing medical information.
  3. Promote medical facilities through information packets.
Committee Purpose:
To develop initiatives which will lead to health industry long-term stability and growth.

Cooperative Relations

Chairperson: David Pace

Committee Objectives:
  1. Provide community information packets to organizations recruiting individuals and businesses to the area.
  2. Encourage cooperative endeavors of promoting local area for future business.
  3. Assist with the "Pride of the Counties" exhibit at the Kentucky State Fair.
  4. Coordinate a business appreciation event for business of Meade County.
Committee Purpose:
To provide support in promotion to the local area for the purpose of building a larger economic base relative to issues of importance to the county.

Leadership Committee

Committee Objectives:
  1. To develop a Leadership Program for the Meade County area.
  2. To assist current Leadership in endeavors promoting the area.
  3. To familiarize participants with the community's opportunities, needs, problems and resources.
Committee Purpose:
Leadership Meade County is an educational program designed to encourage the continuing development of decision-makers and active community participants.

Membership & Public Relations Committee

Chairperson: John Bruington

Committee Objectives:
  1. Assist Executive Director in recruiting membership while providing sufficient income for program needs.
    1. Budget Committee
    2. Future Endeavors to Support Chamber Programs
  2. Conduct member survey to secure program input and report to Chamber Board on appropriate public issues.
  3. Support community development projects as needed.
  4. Promote member-to-member service.
Committee Purpose:
To promote public policy relative to issues encouraging unity of public organizations and businesses.
