Purpose
Leadership Meade County is an educational program designed to encourage the continuing development of decision-makers and active community participants. Our goal is to familiarize the participants with the community's opportunities, needs, problems and resources. Our efforts will be to establish an effective dialogue and peer relationship among the participants and individuals currently in leadership positions within the community. Individuals chosen for the class will represent business, industry, law, medicine, education, finance, government, agriculture, social and civic organizations.
Application
Persons who believe they have demonstrated strong leadership qualities in the world of work as well as in civic activities are encouraged to apply. Class size will not exceed 20. Applications will be accepted for the 2005 class during the months of October -December 2004. The kickoff luncheon for Leadership Meade County 2005 will be in January 2005.
Attendance
To meet graduation deadlines, participants must make a firm commitment to attend each session. Less than 90% attendance will result in dismissal from class.
Tuition
If accepted in the Leadership Meade County program, each participant (or sponsor) will be billed for the tuition fee of $400 to cover program costs. Tuition refunds cannot be made if applicant withdraws or fails to complete the course.
Program
Leadership Meade County is a 12 month program consisting of a retreat day, field trips and seminars. Sessions will include special speakers, presentations, discussions, simulations, and other activities. Please see attached calendar for program dates. Leadership participants will be given an outline of each session prior to the date of the program.
