The Shoppe’s at Otter Creek provide a much needed outlet for the artists and craftsmen of Kentucky to showcase their work. Kentucky has a very long and proud history with its arts heritage. “The world has traveled across to our borders for years buying up our baskets, quilts, dulcimers, pottery and jewelry. Not to mention the traditional music, novels
and performances by our performing artists of this wonderful southern state” according to Tourism Director Carole Logsdon.
Great nationally known festivals have showcased out artisans for years and it all starts with a local grass roots effort of a community embracing it’s artist.
That is the greatest benefit of places like the Shoppes at Otter Creek. They showcase the art. They get it out in the open to be seen and hopefully sold! They are providing a place to purchase local and handmade but they are also providing a place for the artist to learn how to market and sell.
“We are lucky to have such a beautiful facility and we are all looking forward to the great coffee, wi fi and foods to relax with, this long cold winter”, according to Tourism and Chamber Director Carole Logsdon
